‘Motorcycle Racing and the Manx Line’ – Peter Duke of Duke Video fame; this will be a brief talk about his father’s racing career and the shipping line he started – this could prove interesting given the events surrounding shipping on the Island today.
Wednesday 15th June, 7:30pm at the Centenary Centre.
‘Queen Victoria’s Royal Visits’ – Hampton Creer; with the approach of our current monarch’s celebration of sixty years on the throne in 2012, we felt June was the apt time to review the visits of our last female monarch.
Wednesday 6th July, 7:30pm at the Centenary Centre.
‘A Traditional Concert and Sunset Supper’ – with assistance from Ballaugh Heritage Trust. This is a new venture for Tynwald Week – we hope to look back 100 years and provide the style of entertainment our grandparents organised – singing, music, poetry, etc; followed by ‘Tay and Bonnag’, this will be a ticket event, with a charge to cover costs involved. (Tickets will be available from Committee members in due course).
Wednesday 3rd August, 7:30pm meet at Milntown, Ramsey for a private conducted viewing of both the house and gardens. The charge to cover entrance for this event is Six pounds in advance (sorry there will be no refunds given). There will be a limit on numbers for this event, so be sure you give your name to ‘Corrie’ Wooding in good time – remember to bring your camera!
Provisional** Sunday 4th September 3pm meet at Ronaldsway for a guided tour around the Airport perimeter path with Andrew Johnson from MNH. – following on from Andy’s very popular talk in January of this year ‘Flight into Pre-history’ we persuaded him to walk us around this area.

‘Confessions of a faded Politician’ – contrary to the title this is not a Robin Asquith movie, but a talk by Dr David Moore about his time spent as an MHK. Perhaps touching on his writing career and published works (The Dalby Outrages & The Fearnot Family).
Wednesday 5th October, 7:30pm at the Centenary Centre.
‘Tajikestan’s Children’ – Pam Kerruish; Pam will tell us of her experiences working in Tajikestan at the children’s orphanages. Pam’s trip was supported by the Lord Cockfield Trust.
Wednesday 2nd November, 7:30pm at the Centenary Centre.
‘This and That’ – Phil Gawne MHK.; hopefully by this time the elections for the House of Keys will be behind us and we will be able to hear Phil’s views on various topics.
18th January: 7:30pm at the Centenary Centre. 'Rushes' with John 'Dog' Callister. John will be giving us a talk and
a demonstration on items like Bumbee Cages and Triskeles made from
rushes – your chance to learn a new skill and keep countryside traditions.
15th February: 7:30pm at the Centenary Centre. The A.G.M. – give your views and nominate your new committee for
the coming year!
Before the A.G.M. Ian Young will give a slide show and talk about the
boat trips he conducts around our coastline from Peel, taking in the
birds, basking sharks and seals.
15th March: 7:30pm at the Centenary Centre. 'Roy Moore Remembers'. Mr Roy Moore, Manx Radio's T.T. voice
from the Gooseneck will talk about the days of his youth, early morning
practices and the smell of Castrol R!
